While obtaining my Masters in Applied Meteorology from Mississippi State University I decided to take part in a storm chasing class out in the Plains from May 8th-May 16th. It originated from Oklahoma City and we went through Texas, Colorado and Kansas. Day 7(May 15th-THE LAST DAY)-Why not end with a bang? We drove from Colby KS through Childress(TX-we were there on Day 4) and eventually made positioned ourselves between Decatur and Denton TX(well north of the Granbury tornado, but we still saw a funnel cloud around Sunset/Alvord).
